There are three great things about denim: It’s extremely durable, you can wear it all year round and it never goes out of style. However, there are some denim articles of clothing that seem to be more appropriate for certain seasons of the year.
Take a jean jacket, for instance. That is something that you would probably want to wear during the cooler seasons of the month. The same goes for boot-cut jeans. So, when you’re trying to figure out the kind of denim trends that are most appropriate for summer, how do you narrow down your options?
That’s a really good question. Below, we’ve enclosed five denim looks that will keep you cool while looking hot from Memorial Day thru Labor Day.
A Denim Shirt
A denim shirt is something that you can wear at any time; however, during the summer months, we recommend purchasing one that is made out of a fabric that is light such as a supersoft chambray. Also, consider getting one that is short sleeve and buttons all the way down so that have the option of wearing a camisole or tank top underneath.
White Jeans
Something that’s extremely fun about jeans is that you can dress them up or down. So, whether you want to wear a T-shirt and some sandals or you’re dressing up for a first date, a pair of white jeans will help to create the perfect look.
A Denim Dress
Denim dresses are fabulous too, mostly because you can find them in all kinds of styles whether it’s a halter dress or a shirt dress or even a summer dress that flows down to the floor. As far the shade of denim that is best, opt for either a dark denim or one that is light blue. Both of those can be easily accessorized.
Distressed Jeans
If you have a pair of jeans that look like it’s literally been years since they were crafted by a jean machine, then you are right on trend. Distressed jeans are a particular style that continue to be a favorite regardless of gender or age. While some people look for the kind that are made out of a faded denim material, don’t hesitate to also look for the kind that have holes in the knees or some patchwork along the legs or buttocks. When it comes to achieving the “distressed look”, the more worn the jeans appear to be, the better.
Overalls
You know what they say: Everything that goes out of style eventually comes back in and that’s definitely the case when it comes to overalls. Although a lot of us recall having a pair of them when we were kids, the reality is that they’re not just a “kiddie look”. Whether you purchase a pair of overalls that are full-length or some that stop right at the knee, they are a fun to wear while spending a day at the park, the beach or hanging out with some friends. Plus, they are extremely comfortable and look great on just about anyone, no matter what height or size. They’re definitely something to add to your summer wardrobe, for sure.
