Steal the Eco-Style

Posted by heather on August 25, 2008

Reduce. Recycle. Reuse. Recycle. The environment is an issue that is on many people’s minds, and has been especially pushed into the limelight by celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Natalie Portman, Pamela Anderson, and many others.  Make a personal style statement and infuse your wardrobe with green and eco-friendly clothing, shoes, and accessories this fall—in a style that’s all your own.

Sky’s the Limit

This statement is so true when you are creating your own eco-style.  Eco-style comes in many forms and fashions, and is virtually limitless, because there is so much already out there, just waiting to be brought back to life and into fashion.  Whether you are looking to purchase new green items, recycle old articles, or reuse things for a completely different purpose, the sky really is the limit for creating your own eco-style.

Reduce

Reduce the impact you make on the planet by purchasing products from companies that strive to make the world a better place.  There are many organic and green companies out there that sell amazing, fashion-forward organic and cruelty-free items.  Simply changing where you buy your products can make you feel like you are doing your part in helping to save the planet.  Jonano is a company that is at the forefront of high-fashion organic clothing.

Reuse

Look back through your wardrobe and see if anything has come back in style.  Can any of your old garments be altered or updated?  Although it is not a new idea, try visiting specialty vintage boutiques and thrift stores for hidden gems and unique items that you know no one else will have.  Cultivate a style that is all your own while saving money and minimizing your impact by reusing items to fit your needs.

Recycle

When you go through your wardrobe, if there is anything you know you will never where again, think outside the box.  Perhaps an old dress that is beyond repair or redemption can be turned into a dress, scarf, or sash.  Old belts make cool bracelets, and old earrings can be interesting charms or embellishments on lapels.  Take a different look at those old items gathering dust in the back of your closet.  If there is honestly nothing else you can do with them, it may be time to part ways.  Take the items to a consignment store, or donate them to Goodwill.  You’ll have more room for new things, and you’ll feel good about helping others.

Steal Natalie Portman’s Alluring Style

Posted by kim on September 17, 2007

Natalie Portman Earrings

Natalie Portman walked the red carpet at the 2007 Oscars looking like she was walking straight out of the Roaring Twenties with her flapper bobbed hair and Art Deco styled drop earrings, similar to Emitations’ Mira’s Black Bezel CZ Dangle Earrings. Nothing is as alluring as a lady in black and (faux) diamonds.

Steal Natalie’s Strapless Style

Natalie Portman wore a vintage (from the 50’s) gorgeous strapless, tea-length dress from Chanel at the 63rd Golden Globe Awards. Her unadorned style of no jewelry, no handbag, and short, simple hair had her looking stunning.
