Our Take of the 49th Grammy’s

Patrick and I discussed the 49th Grammy Awards via AIM.  Here’s what we had to say…

 Patrick (7:59:03 PM): well, they started off with the police. i can watch this and turn on the simpsons
 Patrick (7:59:43 PM): did you know the first cassette i bought was a police album?
 Kim (8:02:13 PM): do you know the name of the song they are singing?
 Patrick (8:02:19 PM): roxanne
 Patrick (8:03:22 PM): nice jacket jamie foxx has on
 Patrick (8:03:32 PM): i’ll be wearing that to church next week
 Kim (8:03:37 PM): yeah right
 Patrick (8:04:46 PM): pop collaboration? where do they come up with these categories?
 Patrick (8:05:17 PM): tony bennett and stevie wonder won….shakira looks pissed
 Kim (8:05:38 PM): i think stevie looks like he’s gained a few pounds
 Patrick (8:05:57 PM): just a few
 Patrick (8:07:08 PM): 2 people won this award, but there’s only 1 trophy
 Patrick (8:07:13 PM): wonder how that works out
 Kim (8:07:18 PM): i wondered the same thing
 Patrick (8:09:05 PM): whoever the lead singer of the dixie chicks is, she’s a better blonde than a brunette
 Kim (8:09:23 PM): my daughter said the same thing
 Kim (8:10:02 PM): she knows all the words to that song – not ready to make nice
 Patrick (8:10:21 PM): that dress is hideous
 Patrick (8:16:24 PM): hey, it’s prince
 Kim (8:16:47 PM): he’s been busy
 Patrick (8:18:50 PM): beyonce looks hot
 Kim (8:19:09 PM): i think she looks older than she really is
 Patrick (8:33:38 PM): justin timberlake is singing right now – what goes around
 Patrick (8:33:57 PM): i thought all he did was sing and dance….what’s he doing playing piano?
 Kim (8:34:10 PM): i think he needs to shave – looks scruffy
 Patrick (8:34:30 PM): i bet he doesn’t even know how to play piano. it’s probably one of those self-playing pianos like in the 1800’s
 Patrick (8:34:36 PM): brb
 Patrick (8:39:28 PM): k…mary j. blige seems to be the big winner so far
 Kim (8:39:50 PM): yeah, can she give enough credit to jesus?
 Kim (8:40:08 PM): she’s supposed to sing yet, too
 Patrick (8:40:31 PM): well, the guy does deserve alot of credit
 Kim (8:41:15 PM): for dying on the cross so she could win a grammy?
 Patrick (8:41:24 PM): yes, thank you
 Patrick (8:41:43 PM): and the whole sins thing, too
 Kim (8:42:10 PM): not that i sin or anything
 Patrick (8:42:34 PM): course not
 Patrick (8:43:31 PM): list of nominee’s and winners (so far):
 Kim (8:44:46 PM): i take it the winners are in yellow?
 Patrick (8:44:52 PM): bingo
 Kim (8:45:09 PM): good thing we don’t have to watch all the categories
 Patrick (8:45:57 PM): no kidding, except we’re not going to see best polka album. that’s bullsh*t
 Kim (8:46:10 PM): damn, i’m sorry
 Kim (8:47:56 PM): wanna read the blog i just posted on our motel stay?

 Kim (8:59:08 PM): how long are awards tonight? 2 or 3 hours?

 Patrick (9:19:54 PM): what? narles?
 Kim (9:20:20 PM): didn’t it say it was a combo of charles barkley and somebody else?
 Patrick (9:20:28 PM): and why are they butchering this song? it’s stupid

 Kim (9:24:35 PM): i can’t believe i forgot to watch the opening episode of the new survivor
 Kim (9:24:43 PM): not sure i can get into the new season now
 Patrick (9:24:56 PM): yeah…no point in watching it now
 Patrick (9:25:47 PM): yikes…can ludacris thank anymore people?

 Kim (9:39:53 PM): i’ve seen enough of those chix tonight
 Patrick (9:40:00 PM): that lead singer is just annoying
 Patrick (9:45:46 PM): yikes…this goes on for another 1 1/2 hours yet
 Kim (9:46:09 PM): i think they could cut out some singing show more awards
 Patrick (9:46:24 PM): i’ve seen the police….it’s been pretty much downhill since then
 Kim (9:46:57 PM): i agree, i’m not gonna give up any beauty sleep to see the rest
 Patrick (9:47:06 PM): yep…bedtime for bonzo
 Kim (9:47:31 PM): i agree – g’nite – tty tomorrow

Prince’s Purple Reign

I’m not that into football (except for the Huskers), but I always try to watch the Super Bowl, mainly for the cool commercials.  I missed Jessica Simpson’s new ad for Pizza Hut (my favorite food).  But the best commericals are usually Bud Light and GoDaddy.

Prince was the half-time entertainment.  Although I don’t suggest “stealing his style” of the turquoise jumpsuit, I do like his music, probably because it reminds me of my younger years.  Yahoo reported that others are just as intrigued over Prince. “Judging from the variety of Prince-ly searches, we’d say he’s ready to be fit for a crown…”

So, I decided to do some research on him as well.  I didn’t realize he made SO many albums. My favorites are 1999 and Soundtrack from the Motion Picture “Purple Rain”. You can even download Prince Ringtones for your cell phone!
