Having pale skin is nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, it shows that you have a porcelain complexion that is both healthy and versatile. You can rock just about any hair color you want with pale skin, depending on what the rest of your face looks like.

The key is to determine what look you want to go for. Here’s an overview of some different hair colors to keep in mind, along with an analysis of what they will do for your appearance.

If you have green or hazel eyes, you are sure to look great with auburn hair. The deep red provides a great contrast to the whiteness of your skin and the green flecks in your eyes. The only reason you would need to be careful is if you have red-tinted skin. In this case, it may be better to use one of the other colors below or try a microderm treatment to get your skin looking brighter. Then you might be able to go back to the auburn.

Box color black usually looks terrible, but professional black can look amazing against pale skin. It is sure to make any eye color pop, and it will act as a sharp contrast against the skin. Of course, you need to consider the clothes you wear because you make look more “goth” than what you want to this way. If you can get the right color going though, you could make black your show-stopper dye.

Dark Brown

For those of you who don’t like the sharp contrast of black, you could go for something a little more subtle with dark brown. Light brown has a tendency to wash out pale complexions, but darker shades provide the warmth needed to make the pale skin really shine. If you want to add some light brown highlights for depth, that’s fine. Just avoid anything that looks overly “mousy”.

Platinum Blonde

If you’re going to go with any shade of blonde, make it really really light. This is going to flow right in with your skin, and it may give you that “wow” factor you’ve been looking for. You can add crazy colors to that blonde if you want to, like hot pink or bright blue. Just make sure you know what that color is going to fade to before you commit to it.

With the right amount of confidence, you can make any hair color look good against your pale skin. Check out some of these options and see which one may work for you.
