Anyone with an interest in fashion knows that even the best outfits get better under the presence of great accessories. Accessories also play a key role in bringing lesser-heralded outfits to life.
They are a massive part of fashion, and everybody knows it. While knowing that accessories are massive is one thing, ensuring that yours are perfectly matched to your outfit is quite another.
We looked at how you can ensure your accessories are always up to the job of making any outfit a showstopper.

Jewellery
We’re going to look at jewelry in two parts. First, we’ll look at what we’ll call ‘designer’ jewelry from top brand names.
If you decide to go for this type of jewelry, then there is a simple path to follow. Choose the glitziest, most glamorous piece you can, that will stand out whatever you wear, and go for it.
For you, that might mean a necklace from Cartier, or a bracelet from Tiffany & Co. Whatever you decide, hold nothing back when adding glamour to your outfit. Desirable accessories such as these can be worn with pretty much anything, and if you don’t want to save them for special occasions, they’re great for everyday wear, too.
Away from this, you might decide to go for costume jewelry that you specifically match to each outfit. The rules here are easy to learn, just pick a colour out of your outfit and match the earrings, beads, or ring to it.
If you are wearing a black outfit, then the choice is yours when it comes to the add-ons, although matching them up for going for a bright colour as a contrast are both good options to try out.
The Handbag
Opinion differs when it comes to buying a handbag, but there is a clear scale to follow. We’re not going to get into choosing colours and patterns, you should know all of that for yourself by now. The only thing you need to do is get the right sized bag to match the occasion.
The more formal the occasion, the smaller the bag should be; easy. So, if you are headed to dinner in a beautiful dress, a clutch bag will do the trick. On a jeans and loose blouse day, a huge bag that you sling over your arm or shoulder is the way forward.
If you don’t want to buy a selection of bags for each outfit, go for something you can use on any occasion and is medium-sized, from a brand such as Ted Baker or DKNY.
Footwear
Some of you will have footwear on a pedestal where it is its own entity, but to us it is still an accessory, albeit an amazing one.
When it comes to shoes your best option is to follow the latest trends, although pumps for casual styles and quaint court shoes for formal are great default options that will round off your outfit nicely.
Master the accessories to finish off the look; the power is in your hands.
