I’ve thankfully been blessed with good hair, much to my mother’s struggles as I grew up and her having to wrestle with this mop and clips and hair bands, it must have been quite a sight if I think back to it now. And I wouldn’t change it for the world.
My daughter, on the other hand, got my husband’s side of the gene pool when it comes to thick locks. While her hair isn’t so thin that you can see through to her skull, thank goodness, it does result in quite a limp, thin ponytail if tied straight up with no ‘techniques.’
When plaiting I have to do what’s known as pancaking and this is the only way I let her out the house. Ha. As much as we have tried all remedies, lotions, and potions for her, but without resorting to salon quality and chemicals, nothing has significantly helped.
One plus side to her hair is that she is a gymnast, so tying up and outing in a bun is easier than I’ve seen some moms have to deal with. The plaits and styles do look neater, but she can’t live her life in a gym hairdo now can she? I guess we will cross that bridge when we come to it.
Are there foods we can eat to promote healthy hair growth?
Surprisingly when I started my research into this a lot of options popped up, ones I would not have previously considered but will now be adding into the meal plan without anyone knowing and then waking up like Rapunzel. Now wouldn’t that be a treat?
The main item I saw in almost all studies and results was eggs, they contain what is known as biotin and protein, both of which are responsible for follicle growth and thus resulting in lush locks. Then there is the berry family, bursting with minerals and anti-oxidants they strengthen the hair and prevent breakage of the cells.
Spinach, much to the disgust of my children, is loaded with vitamin A which stimulates the glands of the skin to secrete sebum, an oily substance aiding in moisturizing. With the scalp being moisturized and no flaky deserts walking around, you don’t have to worry about shedding hair all over the place or scabs forming.
Others such as fish and sweet potato surprisingly benefit your hairs health, take a look at this article for more menu items to add to your shopping list and sneak into your families’ dinner. You’ll soon be struggling with a mop of hair and 100 hair clips, fun times.
Then for those who can afford and happily accept help with regards to achieving and maintaining a good head of hair, and this comes in the form of products in pretty packaging. I love going to the salon and having my hair done, seeing all the tubes and bottles lined up in color co-ordination and whispering to me to take them home.
On some occasions I have, and I threaten any member in the house who dares to use them. Every woman will know the cost of these bottles, but if you want quality and trusted products that won’t damage your hair, the price is worth it. You need to put quality ingredients onto your scalp and hair bed if you want to achieve magazine looking hair.
For trusted products from a reliable and reputable company be sure to have a look at the Keranique hair regrowth treatment for women. Not only are you in expert hands of people who have years of experience in the business of hair care, but the rave reviews from satisfied customers will surely close the deal.
If using a product that is going to thicken your hair or promote new growth, and in return gives you more confidence, then I say ‘what are you waiting for?’
How does hair regrowth work?
Well, we know and understand that hair is made up of a root, follicle and a shaft. If the follicle has been damaged in any way, disappeared or even closed up then the hair regrowth is not going to be possible
If it is still intact and waiting with open arms for treatment, then yes you can not only grow new hair but thicken existing hairs that you have which are thinner. Either way, it’s a win-win. Here’s looking to a new hairstyle every day.
And don’t stress you are not alone in this, many women and men face this every day, see a blog of others in the same situation and how they got through it.
