Model Portia Freeman started her career with a shoot for British Vogue with photographer Mario Testino, as well as Italian Vogue and W Magazine for Steven Meisel. Since then, she’s worked with Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton and Chanel among others, and been named the face of Charlotte Olympia. The beautiful blonde 25-year-old is also a proud mum, and an ambassador for the first-ever Global Kids’ Fashion Week. In February, Portia also joined the latest Uniqlo campaign as the brand launched its first collaborative collection with iconic textile designer Celia Birtwell.
Like so many of us in the fashion world, Portia Freeman has a love of shoes bordering on obsession! She remembers dressing up in her gran’s high heels when she was four years old, and today she owns close on 100 pairs of heels in all colours and styles. The only thing she loves more than shoes is her little boy Dylan, who has introduced her to the world of childrens’ fashion, prompting her involvement with Kids’ Fashion Week.
Portia Freeman has been keeping particularly busy during the A/W 2013 London Fashion Week – not only that, she’s kept an exclusive behind-the-scenes photo diary for Grazia Daily. The model gave fashion lovers the inside scoop with a selection of snaps taken from the various shows and parties she attended during the week. She spent her time FROW-ing at Sass & Bide, Matthew Williamson, JW Anderson, Moschino Cheap and Chic, Margaret Howell and the first Whistles show at LFW. She also spent plenty of time hanging out with fellow models, and made an appearance at L’Wren Scott and Sir Mick Jagger’s Fashion Week dinner, accompanied by her boyfriend, Pete Denton of UK rock band The Kooks. Portia even took some time out to pose for a photoshoot, and included a backstage shot from one of her latest modelling campaigns, which she says has a fairytale theme.
Everyone, from models and designers to journalists and photographers, has their own secret to surviving Fashion Week, whether it’s a favourite skincare trick, a healthy snack or simply a good night’s sleep. To keep herself on top of her game throughout her hectic London Fashion Week schedule, Portia has two favourites she can’t live without – a good pair of heels, and an abundant supply of Vita Coco coconut water, her refreshment of choice.
We can’t wait to see what Portia Freeman gets up to next, whether she’s in front of the camera or behind it!
