Keratin Bond/ Heat-Bonded/ Glue-in

These extensions are attached to your hair by using keratin bonds. The keratin bonds are fused with a tool called a “Flat Plate” and resembles an odd shape hair straightening iron. This method is very popular and looks fantastic. Some upkeep is needed but over all a simple method.

For the longevity of the bond, it’s recommended to condition the hair only at the ends. If you blow the hair dry, begin at the ends of the hair first. This method will last approximately 3 months, but if cared for properly it can last as much as 5 months.

Weave or Sewn-In

Overall, the weave/sewn-in hair is the most ideal for curly, thick or coarse hair. It’s applied by sewing in good quality hair, like brazilian hair, into a tight braided section of the natural hair. These kinds of extensions require a bit more upkeep, but are more durable and seem to last longer. Salon visits may be required every 5-7 weeks to ensure each section is in good nick and with upkeep visits, the stylist will assess if the extensions should be tightened.

Cold Fusion

In this method the keratin bond is not warmed, rather ultrasonic waves cause the keratin to melt and form the bond during installation. Vibration produced by ultrasound energy is applied to the area where the keratin tip joins the client’s natural hair. The vibration then crystallizes the bonding, and forms a strong, invisible hold. Without using heat, cold fusion method causes less possible damage to the hair.
