Day Vs. Night Makeup?

You think the only problem that we face with using makeup is what shades or colors would best suit our complexion or whether to use cream, mousse or powder, but aside from those many choices that make things a bit difficult for us is when and how to use these makeup products. Most of the time we just apply makeup on our face depending on our mood. Sometimes we use the complete set (foundation, concealer, mascara, lipstick, blush on, eyeliner) and sometimes a simple blush on and powder will do. But what makeup to use should not just depend on what mood we’re in but also when we’re using them. Think of having to wear pajamas during the day and casual or office attire at night, yes, we would look silly and same goes for the makeup that we apply. There is also what we have as day makeup and night makeup that for us to look professional (when needed) or cool and on-the-go we must apply.

About Day Makeup

Makeup during the day must be neutral and earth-toned especially since most of us have day jobs which sort of requires us to look professional or at least presentable. Day makeup is much lighter and natural looking. Shades of browns are usually the perfect choice for the day look and instead of going full on the eye makeup, an eyeliner on the top lid and a single coat of mascara will do. Even though I’m an eye makeup fan, I admit I usually opt for lighter makeup even during night time. I just add a little more blush and mascara but not too heavy or dark.

About Night Makeup

If you more on the bold colors side, the night makeup would let you show your playful and youthful side. Blues, greens and the popular reds are the common picks for night time look and if you want to add more fun, you can also use glitters and frosted shades. This is also when you can apply full eye makeup, if you are like me who is more an eyeliner girl than a lipstick girl then this is the most fun part of night makeup. Personally, glitters and frosts aren’t my thing and I can’t think of an occasion when I can pull off such a look although there were some that I know who look dazzling with it. If you are one of those, I think you are lucky.

The Difference

The difference between day and night makeup is not about the makeup products itself but with the shades that we use. If you are like me – and most other ladies that I know – who likes “collecting” makeups, my favorite is MAC makeups.

They have a lot of makeup products to choose from and a lot of shades too which is a huge plus with all the day and night shades that we should keep in mind. Now if I could just find some makeup deals!
